Good pencil set

Got the Luminance 6901 colored pencils. They arrived fast. Quality seems good. Used them for a few drawings already. Happy with the purchase.

Nice experience overall

I bought one of those 849 ballpoint pens, the one with the Paul Smith design. It came pretty quick, like, I ordered it on a Monday and it was here by Thursday. The pen itself writes really smooth, which is what I wanted. I liked how easy it was to find what I was looking for on their site. Packaging was also quite nice, made it feel a bit special. No complaints, it was a pleasant shopping trip.

Quality products, slight delay

I ordered a set of Neocolor II water-soluble pastels and a leather pen case. The pastels are fantastic, great pigment and blend really well, just what I expected from Caran d'Ache. The pen case is also very well made. My only minor issue was with the shipping; it took a day or two longer than the estimated delivery time, which was a little inconvenient as I needed them for a project. Customer service was polite when I inquired, but they couldn't speed it up. Still, the products themselves are top-notch and I'd likely order again, just with a bit more buffer time.

Great value on pencils

I was looking for some high-quality pencils but didn't want to overspend. I saw they had a deal on the Prismalo water-soluble pencils and decided to try them. The price felt pretty fair for what you get. Shipping was free too since my order was over $50, which helped a lot. The pencils themselves are really nice to work with. Definitely felt like I got a good deal without sacrificing quality. Worth it.

Thinking of pulling the trigger on some art supplies. Do they offer free shipping or is that only for big orders?

T Todd 2 months ago
Yep, free shipping over $50, usually. Pretty easy to hit that amount with their stuff haha.

Free shipping is definitely a thing! Just gotta spend over a certain amount, which is usually $50, makes sense to grab a few things at once.

quick question: can I use my student ID for a discount on Caran d'Ache's site? Or is that not a thing?

K Kevin Beaumont 1 month ago
I think they do actually have a student discount! I remember seeing it mentioned somewhere, worth checking the site's footer or FAQ.

Yup, they do! Not sure what the percentage is, but it's definitely an option. You usually have to verify your student status through some third-party service.

Are the Paul Smith edition pens ever on sale? Really want one but the price point is a bit oof.

J Josh Y. 2 months ago
Probably not, man. Limited edition collaborations almost never get coupon codes or discounts, based on their policy. They're usually excluded from sales.

Highly doubt it. Special editions like that are usually excluded from all promotions. Best bet is to save up or try to find one second-hand if you're lucky.

What's the deal with returns if I buy something and it's not quite right? Is it a pain in the butt?

D Derek D. 2 months ago
My experience was pretty smooth. Had to return a pen that wasn't what I expected. They give you a window, just make sure it's in original condition.

Nah, it's not bad. You usually have 30 days, just don't engrave it or anything. As long as it's new, unworn, and all that, it's fine.

Anyone know how to spot a fake Caran d'Ache pen? I'm looking at one online from a non-official seller.

N Nick Okafor 1 month ago
That's tricky. Real ones usually have very precise engraving, feel solid, and the refills are top-notch. If it feels too light or cheap, probably fake. The packaging is usually really good too.

Check for build quality, especially the mechanism if it's a ballpoint. Fakes often feel a bit off, and the branding details might be blurry or misaligned. Also, the weight and material quality are usually dead giveaways. If the price is too good to be true, it probably is.
